Finding & Designing the Studio
After touring numerous sites, we found our ideal first location on the Middlesex Turnpike. We worked with our design team at JoeArchitect to imagine what the new space could look like.
Lease Signing, Architecture, & Permitting
After signing a long-term lease and finalizing our architecture plans, we worked with our amazing general contractor team, Wellen Construction, to receive our building permits as 2025 drew to a close.
Construction!
Our construction team worked tirelessly to bring our vision to life while we coordinated with our vendors to orchestrate the on-time delivery of our materials, furnishings, equipment, supplies, and technology.
Interior Finishes, Systems Set Up
Our vision is starting to become a reality. Construction is coming along well, and we are hard at work ensuring our systems are set up properly so that we can be ready to deliver a great care experience to you from Day One.
Grand Opening!

Meet Our Family
That's not corporate jargon, we're actually a family. What started as a dream between a sister and brother six years ago is quickly becoming a reality. From our family to yours, we're excited to build a lasting relationship with you and be part of the Burlington community for decades to come.
Professional Experience: Before launching Protego, Dr. Serena practiced at three different offices in the greater Boston area. She has worked in corporate environments and old-school family practices, with babies with their very first teeth poking through and their grandparents. Her diverse experiences have solidified her clinical philosophy and she is excited for Protego to be its natural implementation.
Education: Dr. Serena graduated as one of the top ten students in her class from the #2 ranked dental school in the country (University of Washington School of Dentistry). She is passionate about continuing her education so she can provide the most up-to-date care for her patients, and is currently completing advanced training in Dental Sleep Medicine at Tufts University. Dr. Serena received her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Emory University.

Professional Experience: Raj began his career as a software engineer at GE Healthcare and eventually became the company's youngest lead product manager, where his teams developed data solutions for AI in medical imaging. Raj also founded (and sold) a successful financial planning business. Now, Raj spends his time investing in and coaching entrepreneurs as they chase their dreams; unsurprisingly, building Protego alongside his sister is his most rewarding project yet. Raj dives in wherever the business needs him most: strategic decision-making, building this website, manning the reception desk, you name it!
Education: Raj received undergraduate degrees from Duke University in Computer Science and Health Policy, his MBA from Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management, and a master's in design from Northwestern's McCormick School of Engineering.

Professional Experience: Alka spent two decades working as an anesthesiologist in outpatient clinics in North Carolina. As a dental assistant, in preparation for her role at Protego, she worked at a local practice in the Boston suburbs.
Education: Alka obtained her medical degree from Cardiff University in the UK. Upon moving to the USA, she completed her residency in anesthesiology from UNC-Chapel Hill. She chose to return to school to train as a dental assistant to be part of the family business. She is excited to bring her broad medical background and clinical experience to Protego.

Koda is a four-year-old Bernadoodle, who brings good vibes wherever she goes. Despite her role as head of security and her occasional bark, she's as friendly and cuddly as can be. Somehow, Koda has yet to figure out how to play fetch.

As a family-owned and operated business, we're on a mission to bring relationships back to the forefront of the care experience. We want to be the dentist your children choose to visit for their checkups 20 years from now whenever they're back in town for the holidays.
Convenient Hours
Why are dental practices only open when you're at work and your kids are at school? We're open all day Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We're also available on weekday evenings by appointment. Visit us at times that are convenient for you!

We're a true family business, with zero corporate backing or influence. Our primary goal is to become a trusted member of the community, not hit quarterly performance targets.

Sure, we've got TVs with streaming services in every room, a complimentary beverage bar, and even a dedicated kids waiting area too. But, more importantly, we listen to your concerns, are a partner in your health, and never rush. That's how we build trust over time.

Yes, we accept all major insurance plans to help make your care affordable. Our team will assist you in understanding your coverage and benefits. If you have questions about your specific plan, feel free to reach out. We unfortunately do not accept MassHealth at this time.
We are planning to open to the public in June 2026! We will begin scheduling appointments as early as April 2026. If you join our waitlist, you'll reserve your family's place in line when we begin reaching out to fill our schedule.
