Meet the Team
Four Patels, one mission: to make dental care feel like it used to, personal, unhurried, and built on trust.
Dr. Serena Patel
Before launching Protego, Dr. Serena practiced at three different offices in the greater Boston area. She has worked in corporate environments and old-school family practices, with babies with their very first teeth poking through and their grandparents. Her diverse experiences have solidified her clinical philosophy, and she's excited for Protego to be its natural implementation.
Raj Patel
Raj began his career as a software engineer at GE Healthcare and eventually became the company's youngest lead product manager, where his teams developed data solutions for AI in medical imaging. He also founded (and sold) a successful financial planning business.
Now, he spends his time investing in and coaching entrepreneurs as they chase their dreams; unsurprisingly, building Protego alongside his sister is his most rewarding project yet. He dives in wherever the business needs him most: strategic decision-making, building this website, manning the reception desk, you name it!
Alka Patel
Alka spent two decades working as an anesthesiologist in outpatient clinics in North Carolina. As a dental assistant, in preparation for her role at Protego, she worked at a local practice in the Boston suburbs.
Koda Patel
Koda is a four-year-old Bernedoodle, who brings good vibes wherever she goes. Despite her role as head of security and her occasional bark, she's as friendly and cuddly as can be. Somehow, Koda has yet to figure out how to play fetch.
From dream to reality.
Protego Dental started as an observation between siblings that dentistry was getting more corporate and less patient-focused with each passing year.
We aspired to create a family practice that put relationships first, took the time to do things right, and offered hours that were actually convenient for working adults and their kids.
